Learning, Beyond the Lecture Hall

The Lumbini Medical College Learning Portal is the official online learning platform of Lumbini Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Tansen, Palpa. It brings our classrooms, skills laboratories and clinical teaching into one place that students can reach from the hostel, the library, or the ward.

About the College

Lumbini Medical College & Teaching Hospital is a private medical institution located in Tansen, Palpa — a hill district roughly 300 kilometres west of Kathmandu, sitting at an altitude of about 1,350 metres. The college is affiliated to Kathmandu University and offers MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing and postgraduate MD/MS programmes.

Through its teaching hospital, the institution provides health services to a population spread across Palpa, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Syangja and parts of Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi. More than a thousand students have graduated from the college and now work in health institutions across Nepal and abroad.

What This Platform Offers

Structured course content. Every programme is organised by year and subject, with recorded lectures, reading material, practical demonstrations and dissection videos mapped to the Kathmandu University curriculum.

Practice that reflects the real exam. Subject-wise quizzes, chapter tests and full-length mock examinations with timers, negative marking and detailed explanations for every answer.

Learning that fits a clinical schedule. Content is available on phone, tablet and desktop, so a posting in the ward does not mean a missed lecture.

Direct access to faculty. Scheduled live doubt-clearing sessions and a question thread on each lesson, answered by the department that teaches it.

Progress you can see. Completion tracking, test history and performance breakdown by subject and topic.

Who It Is For

  • MBBS students across all six years

  • B.Sc. Nursing students, first through fourth year

  • MD and MS residents

  • Candidates preparing for MECEE-BL, nursing entrance and the Nepal Medical Council licensing examination

Our Approach

Medical education works best when knowledge is attached to a patient. Our content is built by the same faculty who teach in our lecture halls and supervise on our wards, and it is written to support bedside learning rather than replace it. Recorded material is for revision and preparation; the ward round is still where medicine is learned.
